State and Global Initiatives: Empowering Pediatric-Focused Nurses

The Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) is committed to optimizing the health and well-being of all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults – both across Ohio and around the world.

Through our state and global health initiatives, we strive to advance a shared vision for pediatric health that transcends borders, geography, and income levels. Our goal is to help establish consistent, evidence-based standards for pediatric care delivery, ensuring that every child, everywhere, receives safe, competent, and developmentally appropriate care.

Together, our collective expertise can help shape the future of pediatric nursing – empowering every nurse, in every setting, to deliver high-quality, family-centered care that meets the needs of a changing world.

Across the globe, children’s health continues to face growing challenges, including provider shortages, conflict, climate change, and inconsistent standards in nurse training and credential recognition. These systemic barriers often leave pediatric populations – particularly in underserved and lower-income regions – without access to essential care. Addressing these disparities requires a united, global nursing response grounded in collaboration, innovation, and shared professional standards.
